We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Hagai and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samuel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
All my life I was independent but I never worked in art that I loved so much, I decided to leave everything 9 years ago and focus only on art, I am very happy about this decision

At first the story was not so simple. Not at all.
The years passed, I grew up and worked in different and varied professions but I never made a living from painting or painting walls as a profession.

I had many concerns about leaving the tidy and not really satisfying job, but over the years I realized that I had to change and the hobby had to become a profession.
This is what I want to do in life art and nothing else.

At first I didn’t have much work I would draw for myself and share my drawings with family, friends and local communities, but after a long time people started to be interested in my works.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My paintings are created on walls or on oil paintings on canvas, the painting style is called colorful graffiti which combines hyper realism and surrealism I produce my inner and deep feelings, which includes many shades of colors in deep layers, among other things I also like to draw female figures, beauty, shyness, Fear, hiding, introspection, how I am seen and how I really look, flaking and internal changes.

And also in the style of paintings that characterize the beauty of nature and landscapes from different angles, I really like sunsets, romanticism, depth and perspective.

I take my artistic language and combine it with a style that fits the client like a glove.

The common denominator of all my creations is going down to the smallest details and this makes the painting look real, alive and breathing.

Every day I wake up excited and knowing that I am going to create and move forward with a project and the most satisfying thing for me is to see the final result and of course the customer’s smile.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Santa Monica I think it’s beautiful, close to the beach and so many spots to hang out

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
