Meet Sirinate Sornthuam | Tattoo Artist / Micro realism tattoo artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with sirinate sornthuam and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sirinate, why did you pursue a creative career?
When I was young, I loved spending my free time drawing. I would sketch anything in front of me, like my dogs or cats, with a focus on realism. And when I was in art class, I noticed that my drawing skills surpassed those of my classmates, consistently earning me high grades. When COVID happened, I found myself with a lot of extra time, so I decided to try tattooing. Since then, I haven’t stopped
Another reason I want to pursue a career as an artist is the flexibility. Being a tattoo artist often offers more flexibility in terms of when and where you work. Additionally, you can set your own hours and work from various locations. Traveling and working has always been a goal of mine, so being able to do that now is fantastic.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets my work apart is my unique style, which combines detailed realism and fineline. I love creating pieces that is memorable for my clients. Each tattoo is not just an image but a meaningful experience and lasting memory.
Getting to where I am today was definitely not easy. My journey began with an apprenticeship where I learned the basics of tattooing. There were many days when I felt horrible and just wanted to give up. The pressure to perfect my technique and build a portfolio was a lot. But I knew I couldn’t give up that easily.
I learned that there will be tough days, but sticking with it, even when things get rough, is crucial. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Also, I learn to embrace Feedback criticism is invaluable. It can be hard to hear, but it’s essential for improvement.
I want the world to know that tattooing is more than just putting ink on skin; it’s about creating art that lasts a lifetime. Through my art, I hope to inspire others to pursue their passions and embrace their uniqueness.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Los Angeles is such a beautiful city. For a week-long trip, I would definitely start with a road trip to Solvang first. Spend 2 days there, exploring the Danish-style architecture, shops, and bakeries. Then, venture out to the local wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley for some delightful wine tastings. Finally, indulge in a Danish dinner at one of Solvang’s charming restaurants.
Afterward, return to Los Angeles and visit Malibu. Enjoy breakfast at Café on 27, then head to Point Dume State Beach for stunning ocean views. Have lunch at a seafood restaurant in Malibu and relax on the beach, soaking in the natural beauty of the area.
For the last 2-3 days, dive into the lively vibes of Los Angeles City. You got to check out the Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens. Spend a day strolling through the gorgeous gardens, checking out the cool art, and poking around in the library. It’s a chill way to spend a day soaking up some culture
And to wrap up our trip, let’s hit up a Thai restaurant for dinner. Fun fact: Los Angeles County has the largest Thai population outside of Thailand, so there are a ton of authentic Thai restaurants here in LA. With so many options, we’re bound to find something delicious. It’ll be the perfect end to our week-long adventure.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a big shoutout to my family and friends for always having my back and supporting me every step of the way. Their love and encouragement mean the world to me. And of course, a special shoutout to all my amazing customers who trust me with their ideas and allow me to bring them to life through my work. It’s because of their belief in me that I’m able to do what I love every day. Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of my journey!
