Meet Samuel Salcedo | Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samuel Salcedo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samuel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own practice was both a professional aspiration and a deeply personal mission. I wanted to create something that reflected not only my surgical philosophy but also the values I hold dear—integrity, innovation, and individualized care. After years of working within larger systems, I saw the limitations patients often faced: long wait times, impersonal interactions, and a lack of continuity in their care journey.
I envisioned a space where every patient would feel truly seen, heard, and cared for—from their first consultation to their final follow-up. I wanted the freedom to build a team that shared my commitment to excellence and to design a patient experience that was warm, uplifting, and meticulously detail-oriented.
Starting The Plastics Doc allowed me to do just that. It gave me the creative and clinical freedom to raise the standard for cosmetic and reconstructive care in our community. Every aspect of our practice—from our Disney-themed decor to our hand-selected team and advanced technology—is built with intention. And while launching a business comes with its share of risks and challenges, it’s been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Plastics Doc is more than just a plastic surgery practice—it’s a purpose-driven space where artistry meets integrity, and where every patient is treated like family. Based in Corona, California, we specialize in advanced cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, with standout procedures such as liposuction, tummy tucks, breast augmentation, and upper eyelid lifts. What sets us apart isn’t just our expertise—it’s the experience. From our Disney-themed decor to our warm, highly skilled staff, every detail is thoughtfully curated to create an environment where patients feel safe, seen, and supported.
Building this practice wasn’t easy. Starting my own business meant stepping away from comfort and diving headfirst into risk. There were long hours, financial hurdles, and plenty of behind-the-scenes challenges. But what pushed me forward was a clear sense of purpose—I wasn’t just launching a business; I was building a legacy rooted in trust, care, and excellence. I leaned into mentorship, kept learning, and surrounded myself with people who believed in the vision. Along the way, I learned that success depends just as much on leadership, adaptability, and culture as it does on surgical skill.
I’m proud to say that The Plastics Doc reflects everything I stand for: authenticity, innovation, and genuine connection. Our patients don’t come to us just for a procedure—they come for transformation. Whether it’s a mother reclaiming her confidence after childbirth or a professional stepping into a new chapter with renewed self-esteem, we are honored to be a part of that journey. I want the world to know that our brand is about empowerment, not perfection. We’re not just enhancing appearances—we’re helping people feel powerful in their own skin, and that’s what makes this work so incredibly meaningful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the absolute best of what Southern California—and especially the Inland Empire—has to offer. We’d start in Corona with brunch at Craft & Clever, known for its cozy atmosphere and great coffee, then head to my practice, The Plastics Doc, for a behind-the-scenes tour of the space that means so much to me. For dinner, Taps Fish House & Brewery offers incredible seafood and a local brew to toast their arrival. The next day, we’d spend time in Temecula Wine Country, sipping our way through Leoness Cellars, Robert Renzoni, and South Coast Winery before enjoying a vineyard sunset dinner. Day three would take us to Laguna Beach for a morning coffee at Urth Caffé, a walk through Heisler Park, and some paddleboarding or beach lounging, ending with a coastal dinner at Las Brisas.
For a taste of city energy, day four would be dedicated to Los Angeles—exploring the Broad Museum, grabbing bites at Grand Central Market, and finishing with rooftop cocktails at Perch or 71Above, followed by an unforgettable Korean BBQ dinner in Koreatown. On day five, we’d tap into some Disney magic with a full day at Disneyland and California Adventure—riding classics like Space Mountain, snacking on churros, and soaking in the fireworks to cap off the night. Day six would be all about nature and relaxation with a trip up to Big Bear Lake for hiking, kayaking, or just enjoying the peaceful mountain air. Finally, our last day would be a chill farewell—brunch at Honey’s Bistro, a relaxing stroll through Dos Lagos, and a celebratory dinner at North Italia or the historic Mission Inn in Riverside, full of ambiance and charm.
Southern California has it all—beach, mountains, culture, cuisine—and I’d craft a week that balances adventure with relaxation, making sure my guest leaves with memories to last a lifetime.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without a doubt, my shoutout goes to my incredible wife and family, who have been the unwavering foundation behind everything I’ve built. Their support—through long nights, early mornings, and the emotional rollercoaster of building a surgical practice from the ground up—has been my greatest blessing. My wife has been my sounding board, my motivator, and often the quiet strategist behind the scenes. She’s juggled our family life while also growing her own career, and I couldn’t be prouder of or more grateful for her.
I also have to recognize my phenomenal team at The Plastics Doc. From our nurses to our patient care coordinators and office staff, each person brings heart, skill, and dedication to the table. They don’t just work for the brand—they are the brand. Our success is a shared achievement, made possible by their passion and commitment to giving every patient the best experience possible.
And finally, I want to give a nod to the mentors and colleagues who helped shape my surgical path—those who pushed me to be better, challenged my thinking, and inspired me to lead with both precision and compassion.
This journey has never been a solo act. I’m here today because of a community that believed in the vision, stood by me through the grind, and continues to lift me higher.
