We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Santiago and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I wanted to pursue an artistic career because I love to see people smile, and I enjoy entertaining people, and that makes me happy. Acting, singing, and dancing gives me life because it’s who I am. When I first started pursuing my artistic career, I thought it was egotistical, but I realized my purpose was to shed light and entertain people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m proud of my kids for finding their path and pursuing their goals. I got to where I am today by not giving up on my dreams and following my purpose in life. I understood that the only way for me to make others happy is to be happy. I’m happiest entertaining, and uplifting people. I love colors, makeup, fashion, people, food, culture, education, wine, art, architecture, beauty, and aesthetics, and that’s what my new youtube channel is all about. I’ve overcome challenges by seeing my performance in a movie or a commercial and seeing the reaction from the public when I transport them out of the daily grind of life. I’ve learned that people are happiest when following their own goals and having a purposeful life. I want the world to know that I’m like the sun or a yellow sunflower because I like to bring light to the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting the area, I would take her to eat at a Korean Restaurant in Korea Town, and then I would take her to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, where we will stay the night. We will enjoy a walk on Rodeo Drive and come back to the hotel and enjoy a glass of Pinot Noir. In the morning, I would drive us to Santa Monica and have breakfast at Casa Del Mar. After our breakfast, I would rent us bicycles and go for a ride by the Santa Monica Pier. For lunch, we would stop at the Beach Back Cafe for a late lunch with a salmon burger with sweet potato fries. Before sunset, I would drive her to Montecito, stop there and have a cup of coffee, and enjoy nature. We would drive to The Ritz Carlton Bacara Hotel and spend the night there, and we would take in all of Santa Barbara’s beauty and visit some wineries. We would end the trip by visiting San Simeon Hearst Castle in San Luis Obispo and becoming nostalgic for the castle’s glamour and history. We would end our trip visiting Solvang, CA, and basking in the Danish Culture and Food before arriving back home to LA.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my acting coach Amanda Reed and my daughter Akane Millan for helping me continue improving my skills and honing my craft to become a better performer. I’d also like to give a shoutout to my Youtube Channel Editor, Chad Cunningham (CC Media Content at Studio402), for helping me create my new youtube channel “Sandra Santiago” and for helping me create beautiful content that will empower my brand to entertain and uplift others. I’m also extremely grateful for my friends Jasmin Espada (Espada PR) and Reinaldo Vandres (Aknanda Productions), who have been with me since the beginning of my career.
