We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Lea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was troubled by the fact that I was working to make money to live and that work to me was purposeless. I felt that if there was a way for me to make money to live whilst serving a purpose and helping others, that is what I was going to do. One day, someone said these words to me, “Serve a purpose and the Purpose will serve you.” Thats when it all made sense.
I asked myself, “what is my purpose” and I know wholeheartedly, even since I was a young child, that my purpose has to do with animals, serving, helping and protecting them. Why was I given the gift of being able to innately understand them if it wasn’t my purpose?
So I found a way to Marry my need to serve animals with a way to make money and live. This is where my animal Communication sessions were born. What started out as one on one sessions, has now turned into monthly seminars, Talks, workshops (as well of course as one on one sessions)
Through this work, I was able to find what is lacking in animals lifestyles. One of them being the need to manage daily stress, anxiety and inflammation. This is what led me to create my own Pet CBD company, Heel, in order to maintain Daily optimists in our animals. This company has exceeded my expectations, with tons of monthly subscribers, Heel has been able to help so many pets and my own clients pets with Anxiety, overcoming trauma, pain and inflammation and even seizures.
So in short, My thought process was to find a way to serve a purpose that in turn, would also serve me.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an Animal Communicator, There are many of us out there but most of the world doesn’t know about us and doesn’t understand what we do. In Short, I am able to understand the emotions and psyche of our animals. majority of my work is Animal psychology, understanding how trauma effects our animals, how to rewire trauma in them, what to do for them to change behavior and have a more harmonious experience in the home and in their own lives.
I’m pretty much the telephone line between human and animal. Many people refer to me as a Pet Psychic, Although intuition has a large role to play in my work, I try to stay clear of terms like that because there is a stigma attached to words like “psychic.” Many people fear “psychics” or write them off because they don’t believe. My work is not based off of Belief, its based off the knowledge that 97% of communication is non-verbal and every single one of us has what we refer to as an :”intuition” we just have never been taught to use it.
I know that “intuition” is actually just non-verbal communication that comes in many different forms, we all have it, we just don’t exercise it. Ive been exercising that ability since a very young age. In fact, I know we are all born with it, we just lose it somewhere along the way… somehow, I didn’t.
Choosing to build a career off of my abilities and purposes was one of the hardest things I ever did, and to be honest, knowing what I had to go through to get where I am, although worth it, I’m not sure I would do it over again.
Building clients and a reputation was the easiest part, coming out to the world and saying “I’m an animal communicator” was the absolute hardest. I experienced a loss of friends and family overnight. Although having a deep understanding for animals has always been who I am, announcing that this is what I was doing professionally, really bothered a lot of people.
Wether is be because they though I was crazy and weird or because of religious reasons, I was stripped of so many people I valued. Not only did I experience immense loss, but I felt so deeply judged and criticized, I began to question WHO I AM.
Even to this day, I experience such a fear of judgement, I have to allow my career and reputation to speak for me.
In my professional life, People know and acknowledge my abilities and how much they have helped those that have sought them out. I do not ever need to explain what it is or convert anyone, I Continuously receive acknowledgment for what I do. In the rest of my life, Its the opposite, I dread when people ask me “what do you do” “I heard you speak to animals lol”…I exist in two different worlds to be completely honest and I’m still looking for a way to marry the two.
When you know you are living a good, honest, purposeful and passionate life and helping others greatly, all you need to hear from those around you. even if they don’t understand what you do, is “I’m so proud of you for building a life and career out of what you love, well done.”… but I usually receive the opposite.
My animal Communication business is very abstract, its all intuition, mind, psychology, feeling. I needed to find an addition to my career that was more physical, to solidify and ground everything a little more. When I started seeing the lack of daily assistance for pets anxiety, Joy pain and inflammation, I created my Pet CBD company Heel.
Not only Has Heel taken of and continues to help animals all over the world, but it gave me a greater feeling of having something physical to show the world. I want people to know that everything I do in my career is built off of the innate desire to help and heal animals. it is genuine, it I real and its all about the animals.
Ps: Heel is about to launch a whole new rebrand and some really amazing additions to aid in the overall health and wellness of our fur babies, I’m so excited, so stay tuned!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anytime someone comes in to town, I take them to all the best vegan spots. This includes the amazing fine dining experience at Crossroads Kitchen, The vegan pizza that can make a grown man cry its so good at Double Zero and maybe even hit up erewhon, pick up tons of vegan desserts and drinks and take a ride up the PCH through Malibu.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are two people Id love to shoutout. My Mother for realizing that my abilities were not normal and guiding me on the right path to actualize them. I would also like to shoutout brittany Leigh Tarot, who has selflessly supported and acknowledged me and generously put me on a trajectory that has profoundly effected my career and belief in myself.
