We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarita Buer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarita, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in El Salvador and came to the United States through international adoption. I was 3 years old when I left my country, language and culture to be adopted into a family by a white single mother in the Midwest. The term for my identity is a Transracial Adoptee meaning someone who is adopted into a family where their caretaker is of a different culture or racial origin of themselves. If you can imagine being detached from my language and culture growing up in the 80s is a very white neighborhood constructed a bit of a challenge for me that didn’t reveal itself until I became an adolescent. For most of my upbringing I felt as though i didn’t belong anywhere, always feeling like I had to navigate two worlds and constantly seeking validation in order to feel some sort of belonging. It wasn’t until much later in life when I started to learn about the Transracial adoptee identity and the effect is had on my mental state that I started to understand the importance of taking care of my mind and wellbeing. And so started my deep self-love journey. My intentional self love practices has been imperative for my mental and emotional development. Unfortunately as a child there was not much awareness or understanding of these things but I am grateful we live in a time where we can openly talk about mental wellness. Because it has been such a impactor in my life it is very front in center focus in my Manifestation Coaching business and teachings. I feel very deeply that our self-concept or the way we perceive ourselves in the missing link for us to create the life we truly love living.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work has been me sharing my story of healing and my self-love journey using the tools of intentional manifestation. What sets me apart is that I have been through the fire and back and constantly evolving as a human all while helping others do the same thing. I consider myself a bit of a later bloomer in life. When all my friends were traveling in their early 20s I started in on my corporate life. Fast forward to my 40s in a matter of 3 years I left my corporate job of 15 years, broke off my 8 year relationship and went through bankruptcy. Starting over in your 40s is no easy thing but I build myself back up and now I created a life is much for aligned and intentional with my desires. I help women do that same thing, build the life that are excited to wake up to.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in sunny San Diego and there is only one place they need to visit in my eyes and that is the beach community I live in called Ocean Beach. This community is close knit and people know each other, full of local shops and restaurants that cater to the locals and tourists. One of my favorite place to get a drink and a good bite to eat is called Wonderland where you can watch the beach waves come in and really feel like you are on vacation every day. It’s also a great spot to catch the beach sunset.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Going through Ascension Leadership Academy was a very pivotal experience for me and opened up the pathways of areas I had no idea I was not showing up for myself in. One of the books I picked up that helped me perceive money in a different way was “You Are a Badass At Making Money” by Jen Sincero.
