Meet Scott Hamm | Actor & Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Scott Hamm and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scott, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“I would rather live with rejection then regret”  Being an actor going on two decades now, this quote is pretty self explanatory. In this business, there are a ton of rejections so you better decide early on if that’s something you can deal with. I’ve had plenty of regret in my life as well but that is so much tougher for me to live with mentally. I try to live my life and make career choices with as little regret as possible, rejections I’ve learned to manage just fine. 

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

I have been a working actor for years and have now started to dive into the world of producing indie films as well. I firmly believe that creating and producing your own content is not only the future, but it’s today’s reality. With social media, portable cameras, and endless streaming platforms there is no better time to become a DIY actor/filmmaker. It took me a long time to come around to this way of thinking. You kind of talk yourself out of it because you think it’s impossible to raise the money or write the scripts but I promise you it’s not. You find a group of like minded people, go out there and firmly insert yourselves into the business. There is room for everybody and there is no need to wait for a studio, agent or manager to do it for you. Don’t wait for the phone to ring, you make the damn calls yourself. You can achieve anything if you want it bad enough.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This question has infinite possibilities! Los Angeles has anything and everything to do; especially, if you’re from out of town. Where do I start? Venice Beach is a must see in my opinion. The street performers, muscle beach, the people watching and of course tons of places to eat or grab a drink. If you want the nostalgia you, of course, hit Hollywood Blvd. or Mann’s Chinese Theater, the Hollywood Wax Museum and the Hollywood Walk of Fame to find your favorite celebrities names in gold. Lastly, you can never go wrong taking in a concert at the famous Hollywood bowl.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I could shout out endless friends and family who have inspired and shaped my life over the years but you have caught me at a time when my daughter has stolen my heart. She is almost two years old now and everyday she drives me to be a better human being. I want to succeed in life for her and I want to be the best possible person, husband and daddy for her to be proud of. She is my everything.
