Meet Sebastian Laborde | President & Owner of L.E.G. Entertainment

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sebastian Laborde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sebastian, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is a big part of having great success. Most entrepreneurs prefer to take it safe and secure, and there is nothing wrong with that, they do say, “slow and steady wins the race” but you have to remember that you took a risk when you decided to go solo, you took a risk when you reached out to your investors with your ideas to help finance your business, you took a risk when bought that space to build your business, you took a risk when choosing your equipment carefully to make sure you were looked at as a professional of your career. So you see, entrepreneurship is nothing but risk tasking, the decisions you make on an everyday basis, the connections you made, the people you hire to represent your brand, these are all crucial risks that can make or break you. I have had to take these risk time and time again, some resulted in great success, others were lessons learned but at the end of the day, as the great Wayne Gretzky said “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being a creative artist and business owner is never easy, if it was, then anyone can do it. It takes long hours, repetitive practice, and lots of creativity to stand out from the rest. There is so much amazing creativity out there and I embrace everyone’s ideas. I don’t try to compete, because with competition, come negative drive and attitude. Negativity will destroy you in the this world, and I have learned that staying positive and open to new ideas, can change your perspective about the success of your business. The most successful people in this world don’t “compete”, which is strange to say because, sure, athletes are very successful and they compete constantly, but you have to look at their mentality and confidence. They work hard, practice on their skill, and put it to the test day in and day out, all while maintaining a positive outlook on their professional. Michael Jordan missed the game winning shot 26 times in his career, yet his confidence in taking that shot over and over again is inspirational and a lesson in the power of failure. YOU MUST FAIL IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to everyone I have come across through my journey to success, from the negative people who doubted me and talked behind my back to the millionaires who pushed me to never give up and keep believing in my passion. My parents, my beautiful wife, my gorgeous daughters, professors, managers, teammates, coaches, and friends who stuck by my side in my time of darkness and doubt. This shoutout goes to everyone who has touched my life big or small, because of you, my journey as taking twist and turns that landed me where I am now.
