Meet Sesha Lovelace-Ragon | Retailer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sesha Lovelace-Ragon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sesha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I had just moved back to Hilo from San Francisco and I was trying to think of a retail business that Hilo needed. I got invited to a baby’s first birthday party and I couldn’t find a local baby store to shop at. I had an extensive background in the retail industry so I decided to open my own baby store, and the rest is history!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my retail career by working at the mall in high school. I went on to study Fashion Merchandising at San Francisco State University and worked for brands like Ralph Lauren and Eileen Fisher. I’ve always had a passion for fashion and the retail business so it has been the pleasure of my lifetime to move back to Hilo and be able to serve my community in this way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, this one is easy! We frequently have friends and family visit us here in the Big Island so we’re always putting together itineraries for our guests. Here are my faves (mostly in Hilo):
Food:
Poke Market
Kula Shave Ice
Puka Puka Kitchen
Moon & Turtle
Drinks:
Temple
Ola Brew
Beaches:
4 Miles
Beach 69
Makalawena
Hapuna
Adventure:
Zip Lining
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Farm Tours
Helicopter Tours
Hiking

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout would be to the entire town of Hilo. This is the town where I was born and raised, the town that has my heart. I wouldn’t have been able to grow business the way I have without the support of this community.
