We had the good fortune of connecting with Sir MARCO ROBINSON and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sir MARCO, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I worked for other people until I was 30… my thought process was simple… I wanted to be the best at sales and marketing in my industry… and I wanted to work with the best movers and shakers and learn from them…

When I got to the pinnacle of my career breaking the world record in membership sales of over $1.2 Billion in less than 36 months… I was done…

I knew then it was time to go alone and be my own boss. I didn’t want or need to work for a company anymore….

I just knew more than any company in my industry and when I left positioned myself as consultant and the offers rolled in

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
First of all absolute not it was not easy at all…however I learned through the struggle of life that the more I struggled, the more I failed, the more I learned in the process and the more progress I made the more dopamine release I was able to enjoy and employ in the momentum of my success..

I decided I wanted to be an Actor & Filmmaker when I was very young. I was the kid at the back of the classroom looking out of the window at 6 years old pretending I was James Bond… I became a daydreamer to escape the reality of my childhood which was full of drama and trauma. I got really good at accessing my imagination… it literally saved my life….

And when I was 46 years old I decided that I was going to make a film no matter what.

I reached out to everyone I knew and found someone to write a script with me called “Tangerine Dream”.

I had stars in my eyes….

And now I know because of that reason I lost the $25,000 I invested in this woman and I never saw or heard of this woman ever again.

However I learned a great lesson… do my due diligence!

Fortunately I met an actor called Victor Sole on that protect whose best friend was award winning filmmaker “Ad Bol”.

He encouraged me to meet Ad as he had never made a feature and had the same dream as me….

We met in Holland in 2016 and hit it off then decided to make our first feature originally based on a true story of how the Russians bombed a building in an Eastern European country and the loss of life it impacted. It was a spy thriller and it was controversial…

We made great headway but we were shutdown by a Russian Honeytrap… yes I was the guy that slept with a Russian spy that was sent to kill me in real life…

And yes that happens in real life!

So we stopped production and 6 months later we decided to make a fictional spy movie called “Legacy of lies” based loosely on the irony of what happened to me.

I put the first money in and we raised $4,5 million to make the film which finished post production in Kyiv , Ukraine in December, 2019.

Then the pandemic hit and we were no longer able to release it in theatres!

This was a huge blow as we had thousands of cinemas signed up to show the film as we had Scott Adkins in the lead role and me in a supporting role but fundamentally I had worked very very hard in promoting the film on my own Social Media.

Two years later we sold the rights to Netflix Uk and went all the way to number 4 in the charts….

Then Netflix USA bought it and debuted at #2 in the Netflix us film charts in October 2021…

That was one of the best days of my life’

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we are taking LA, definitely the observatory on the hill with great views great walks and great running routes….

Definitely all the great beaches and all the way up to Malibu

But for me the Chinese theatre and other beautiful cinemas all
Over the city

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are many people in my journey that I learned from …

And one particular book “Bring out the Magic in your mind” by Al Koran.

This book gave me a foundational belief in myself that I was responsible for my own results and it was up to me to achieve the results I wanted….

When I reached the pinnacle of my career I wrote own book based on what I learned through my own experiences “Close the Deal & Suddenly Grow Rich” which became a number one bestseller.
