We had the good fortune of connecting with Skylar Wendel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Skylar, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We started this to help as many people as possible. I was using CBD as a means to manage my own pain and mental health and wanted to give the same benefits to those that also needed it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I first started in the cannabis industry as a grower and consultant. I was working with doctors, chemists, labs, and other industry professionals. I was making products and supplying dispensaries while also donating products free of charge to terminally ill patients with things like cancer and epilepsy.

It was towards the end of my cannabis journey that I met my partner in life and business that we decided to venture more into the world of CBD. Now together, we both have a huge need and want to help people. We’ve come across many hurdles, both in the eyes of the law and people that still hold onto the negative stigmas surrounding the cannabis plant.

All said and done, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. It’s made us both more tenacious, aware, and understanding of all things that come with such a gray area.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Given that we live in a tourist destination, Yosemite Park is definitely on the itinerary. There’s seemingly endless adventure in and around the park. From Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls, to the other amazing hikes and waterfalls, you’d never get tired of witnessing the natural beauty. There’s so many places on the way to Yosemite to visit too. The historic town of Groveland is full of restaurants and information about the early gold mining settlers and their lives. I would definitely visit the local museum where they have wildlife information and interactive displays of the life here before tourism.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has been a huge part and support of what we do. My parents had a huge role in shaping the way I view peoples situations and livelihoods. They taught me about compassion at a young age and it’s something I practice still.
