We had the good fortune of connecting with Aman Bassi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aman, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important part of my success is helping others and doing everything I do out of love for the field I am in. Some do it for money but money doesn’t fulfill or give you the joy you get when you do something from the heart and also make others feel happy or put a smile on their face.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started writing poems at 10 years old. And also had a dream to work in the film industry. Once I graduated high school and I went to LA and started working in film. It was tough at first but I learned along the way and started line producing films & music videos as well directing. I came from a normal family so it was difficult for me to break the norm and do what I do today. Over time I gained enough confidence to start releasing my music. Which has gotten amazing response. I always like to make music of what I’m feeling, love, happiness, pain, anger etc. Music is a best way of expressing myself. My songs tell stories. And I do the same with filmmaking. I like to create and tell stories that are relevant to a everyday person going through something to let them know that there is always a way out of it. No matter what they are going through.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hollywood walk of fame, then a TMZ celebrity tour, go hiking, visit Malibu and all the top restaurants on the city. Road trip along the dessert and watch sunsets from Venice beach.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to thank Deepak Chopra and his book “The Seven Spiritual Laws Of Success” after reading that novel my perspective changed and the way I approached things. I have read that book 4 times and have applied many things I learned from it to my everyday life. Personal and professional.
