We had the good fortune of connecting with Spencer Gilbard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Spencer, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency! As an actor, the more auditions that you go on, the more opportunities you have to book a job. As a podcaster, putting out episodes consistently keeps your audience growing and coming back for more.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve produced 3 seasons of my Improv podcast, The Fishbowl. There are over 60 episodes available to listen to on podcast platforms & YouTube. I want to give my listeners a good laugh, as I poke fun at American & global political and cultural issues. I want to dissolve the polarization in politics, by finding absurdity everywhere. It’s a challenge to stay balanced, but I believe that making fun of both ends of the political spectrum will bring us together. I named my podcast production company LOL Comedy Club because my goal is for everyone to laugh out loud together.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you like movies, you have to see some Hollywood landmarks. View the Hollywood sign from Lake Hollywood Park. It’s a nice park, with one of the best views of the sign. As touristy as it is, it’s fun to go to Hollywood Boulevard. See Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Egyptian Theatre, the Dolby Theatre & find your favorite stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Take a movie studio tour. Warner Bros has a great one, that I used to work on.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout to my mother, Elisabeth Gilbard. My mother has been a constant supporter. Her faith in me motivates me to pursue my creative passions.
