We had the good fortune of connecting with SPIROS KROKIDIS and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi SPIROS, what are you inspired by?
My main source of inspiration as a music producer comes from people’s energy. The energy that emanates from the crowd when I play music gives me the boost I need to keep going and to dream of new and different melodies for my tracks.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am very passionate about my music and I spend many hours of the day developing it. My music reflects my personality a lot and helps me express my own self and feelings through it, which in itself makes it different. What I am most proud of and excited about is the reaction I get from the crowd every time I play. Them enjoying themselves with my music is what is most important to me. Nothing was ever easy professionally and it never is, I always have to prove myself and make sure people always have fun with my music, which is the difficult part since you always need to come up with something new and exciting. Some of the lessons I learned were firstly that you should never rest assured with small successes, and never believe everything is perfect as it is. What the world needs to know about me is that I am still at the beginning of my career, and I will be releasing as many electronic tracks as possible. People can keep informed of any releases and events through my Spotify channel; Voodoo Child.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Usually people visit Corfu in the summer when it becomes a party island. I would take my friend to the most popular places, such as beach bars in Glyfada beach where many djs perform, clubs in the centre of corfu town for a piece of nightlife, for food all seafood tavernas in the whole island are exceptional with fresh food everyday. Because the island combines both mountain and sea, you can also escape from the very ”touristy” stuff and do hiking, cycling and camping up in Pantokratoras mountain.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A big shoutout to George Plakidis who taught me the basic steps to producing music but most importantly, taught me how simple things such as harmony, that exist in nature can help you create music.
