We had the good fortune of connecting with Sr Puig and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sr, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I’m not a doctor but I’m an artist. Art is very much needed, now more than ever. We have an obligation as artists: to warn and inspire the world, and bring hope in times of war. There are two types of people, who will take advantage of people and who will help people. During the quarantine I was able to inspire the world, reinventing photography, and bringing it as an option to hundreds of creatives around the world. I lead a movement of hope and I inspired the world of creatives. I bring hope with honest artwork and now we can print proof of our triumph over fear: Imagination. I was the first in the world to offer virtual photoshoots to my community and to the world. The movement went viral. I only took credit for helping others like me, in need of creation. I believe I was among the first -if not the first- to offer this new form of photography to creatives everywhere to keep us creating at the beginning of the COVID-19 global lockdown. It’s an art project I put together to help others and to save me from insanity. I’m very proud and thankful for everyone who took part (I photographed more than 150 people in 6 weeks all around the globe) I was able to bring hope by inventing a new way of connecting and creating with what was available. I turned a huge limitation into a fun challenge and a doable option, commemorating solidarity, celebrating imagination, and perpetuating creation against destruction. Unlocking my self during the lockdown I reinvented photography, because ART CAN’T BE LOCKDOWN!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a surrealist artist. I don’t photograph what’s in front of me, I create my own reality. I’m a master of catastrophe! My work is unique and intense. It has a distinctive look. My pictures are stories to be explored. My images are daring and they show a different version of reality. I recognize human weakness as true beauty, I like drama and what’s important, emotions, fears, and traumas, my work is screaming against mediocrity, my work is not for the masses. Unfortunately, you only get to this lucidity by a hard process of destroying the consented reality and creates one for you. You must be at some point into the limit because only when there is nothing else to lose, you’ll find your unique style. I’m my case I wasn’t following destiny, I’m just doing what I’m best at: creating. Art is not a profession or a career, it’s a privilege and only if you understand this you will make it, except if you are mediocre ( there are many, most in fact) who just need to learn a trick and them just be good at promoting themselves. If you keep enduring, if you have principles and you train yourself to be effective in every possible situation, work and (enough) money will follow. The most important lesson I’ve learned is that art will give you everything you need, but it will take away everyone you love. I don’t need the world to know anything about me, as a matter of fact, I don’t care what anybody thing about me or my art, because my art is for me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t have real friends.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
To all the artist that has been warning us for centuries with their work. They have been warning us about everything, we are just blind to see. From movies, poems, music, paintings these people went through the same we are in life and they left a testimony of it. For example the “memento mori” and “dance Macabre” movement right after the black death plague, as a reminder of being aware of the death.. Also to every creative and true artist in the world for inspiring others, including myself. All my shout out goes to the Forgotten and invisible artist on social media, you guys are the true inspiring social network, you just don’t have the recognition.
