Meet Stacy Paetz | Television Host, Reporter and Executive Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Paetz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacy, what’s the end goal, career-wise?
Storytelling is paramount to the work I do. When I interview athletes, coaches, team owners, etc., I’m giving them a safe space to use their voices and share their stories. Networks and producers have their story lines, as well…and I honor those objectives. The end goal for me, with every game I cover and every human interest story I report, is to make a positive impact on the world. Sports is more than a game, it’s an opportunity for me to share aspects of individuals lives that the viewer didn’t know. By the end of my career, I want to be remembered as a storyteller who was different. I want to be remembered as a thoughtful listener, impactful storyteller and have each interviewee walk away feeling heard and seen in a powerful way. My work extends beyond the cameras and microphones. I genuinely care about each story I tell.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As one of the first female television sportscasters, the road has not been easy. I started my career at 19 and before I even opened my mouth, I was underestimated. I continued to stay focussed and let my work speak for itself. I earned respect through work ethic and kindness. It’s a challenging profession for many reasons and I’m grateful I kept pressing ahead in the midst of any discomfort. My career is my passion and it’s part of my purpose, so I choose not to let anyone deter me from my goals. I’m most proud of the trust and credibility I’ve earned throughout my career. Athletes, coaches, staff and owners aren’t keen on trusting the media and I’m honored to be someone who has earned trust from some of the most influential people in the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to the Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign, Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, Malibu and DisneyLand. For food, we’d go to Abbot Kinney, the Griddle Cafe, and Nobu in Malibu. I would also take her on a hike in the Palisades and challenge her on the Culver City stairs.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family, which also extends beyond bloodlines. Each of these people support me in the most powerful and genuine ways.
