We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacy, what do you attribute your success to?
I feel the most important factor behind our success is our attention to detail. We make a beautiful product that is pleasing to look at as well as delicious to taste. I started my business with the goal of providing a high-quality, organic product with clean, simple ingredients that you can taste in each bite. Our hand-decorated cookies are a passionate, creative expression for me and my team. We love what we do so our products are infused with that love. Our goal is to make you smile!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My artform is hand-decorated sugar cookies! Making edible art is so rewarding – it’s beautiful and you can eat it! My team makes custom cookies for family, corporate and sporting events. I’m super proud that our cookies have been featured at some of the most exclusive events in Los Angeles! The journey to where we are today has been extremely challenging. The work we do is very labor-intensive which has meant many, many hours of being on our feet in the hot kitchen and sitting at the decorating table making sure every detail is completed. Our largest single order to date was 5,000 cookies! A project this size brought many new challenges such as ingredient planning, scheduling, finding ways to be as efficient as possible and having enough hands to make it happen. I have learned to be consistent in quality and personal touches. Our clients really appreciate extra details that they weren’t expecting. I love to hand them a product that exceeds their imagination!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start with a walking tour of downtown Manhattan Beach. A little food and drink with a view of the ocean is the perfect setting. I always take new visitors to the Sunset Strip along with a view of the Hollywood sign. Hollywood Boulevard, Malibu and a drive through the Santa Monica mountains are absolute musts. Seeing a live taping of a show is also a unique experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success as a cookie artist started completely unexpectedly about 4-1/2 years ago when a company called to request decorated sugar cookies (even though I did not market myself as a cookie artist). I said yes, they loved the product and we are still making custom cookies for them! They trusted me even though they had not seen my work and they supported me as I learned along the way with each order. Another major source of support came from the hospitality group at LA Convention Center. They gave us incredible opportunities to stretch our abilities. I feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with their team! They also support us by referring other large event venues. My team and my family have been unbelievably dedicated and encouraging! I have big dreams and I never back down from a challenge and they allow me to take big leaps.
