We had the good fortune of connecting with Steffany Ayala and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steffany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Since I was a little girl I always had dreams, and part of those dreams was that one day I would run my own business. I didn’t know which direction or type of business I wanted to pursue, but I knew that I was going to build something creative that would make a difference within the community.
Now those dreams became a reality. Each business represents the little girl that one day had a dream and executed them.
Let me share with you three components that help me reach my dreams: First, believe in yourself. We all come with many skills that throughout our journey we learn to define. Second, take time to develop your plan. I believe that each hour, minute and second has something to give to achieve your dream. I believe that all come at the right time. Third, take a positive risk. Yes, I put positive first before risk because the word risk doesn’t have to be a scary word. I learned that by taking the risk to go for your dreams help you to define the goal that you want to reach.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Where to start? Each component of my career life has been centered around giving and showing to the community that we all have the potential to be successful.
From the bookkeeping firm to the flower business my hope is to not just be successful with the services that we offer, but to also make sure that we build a strong relationship of trust and quality.
My bookkeeping firm, SFinance began in 2013. One of my first dreams after I graduate with my MBA. I wasn’t too sure why I wanted to pursue accounting, but through my journey in school, I learned that one reason was to help small businesses achieve their own financial goals. I love what I do and people definitely know that about me because I just not come along to do their books, but because I adopt the vision that they have to build a successful business. It is really one of my rewards to see my clients be successful.
The Flower Patch LA began in 2018 and this is where all the fun and creativity is. I definitely transformed myself and became a different Steffany, I love creating and making something fun that people would be happy to receive. Having flowers is like heaven to me. I would definitely suggest checking us out @theflowerpatchla and check out some of the things we are doing.
And lastly, another dream that I got to achieve was to buy a property in the mountains of Crestline, CA and create a pleasant and peaceful space for people to come and relax.
This journey has not been easy, but I can definitely say that I have been blessed with all the opportunities that I have received throughout my life. The lessons that each dream has brought has helped to be stronger to the challenges I have experienced. Taking the risk to start something new doesn’t mean that we might lose something, it means that we are building something stronger. Now, I can’t wait to achieve another dream that I have in the works.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You touch one of my favorite and hard subjects to talk about, because I love LA, but if I would have to choose and plan a fun long weekend I would suggest two places. I would definitely start from the coast in Malibu, have a lovely walk by the beach as we head to grab our favorite frozen Rose at the Malibu Farm. Afterwards I would get in my jeep and play some good jams and drive to the beautiful mountains of Crestline, in San Bernardino. As we arrive in Crestline, I definitely stay at the @Cedarwaycabin that I own and plan a whole day of fun board games, but before stopping by the cabin will stop by my favorite coffee shop @highergrounds and then after I will light up the fire pit and enjoy a relaxing time in the forest.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, definitely! They have been my biggest supporters. I have always shared that my story of who I am and what I become has been because of all the support, and the mentorship that each of my parents have given me. We are a family that loves to adventure and pursue our dreams.
