We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Santiago and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is the desire to help people. Absalom is all about creating a safe space for people to create or enjoy what is being created right in front of their eyes. It’s a whole vibe where you have fun and enjoy the moment.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of the overall reception I get from my art. My art is Neoexpressionism. I create a moment in time that is then left for the audience to decipher and create their own narrative with. It’s fun and wild with bold messages that challenge our common conceptions and ideologies. It was not easy to get where I am but it was worth it. I am pursuing my dream and making it my reality each day. It’s a lot of blood, sweat, and tears but I would not have it any other way. It is so rewarding.
I have learned to be patient and to enjoy challenges. When someone says you cannot do it, embrace it, and show them that you can. No one can block you from achieving your fullest potential but yourself.
I want people to know that life is not easy but doing what you love makes it’s worth the trip!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Not to sound bias but I would honestly take them to Absalom. We have EVERYTHING there!! We have been told that Absalom is “home away from home” and “the cool kid’s basement that everyone wanted to get invited to.” Why wouldn’t I take them to Absalom?!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absalom is a Women owned, Latina owned, and Family operated business. Therefore, I will like to give the biggest shoutout to my family who has enlisted in my dream and made it a success. I also want to show so much love to everyone who has supported and continues to support Absalom in our mission!!!! Thank you!
