We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzann Christine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suzann, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking Risks activated my faith and allowed me to receive opportunities that I know for sure I would not have ever had, if I had not taken the risks.

I’ll never forget when I first quit my full time job to follow my dreams of becoming a music artist, I submitted my song “Closed Casket” into a contest. Six months after I left, I received a call that my song won a opportunity to open for Radio One Fest in Miami out of 1400 people nationally. I truly believe that the Universe opened up for me because I took that risk. I also took a risk by moving to NY without a clear plan but I believed that I could make more happen for myself when I moved. Literally 2 months after moving, my song “Falling Tears” was played on Shade 45, Hot 97 and WBLS. It was awesome. Risks are necessary.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a recording artist most known for my strong voice and versatility in all shades of R&B/Pop/Soul. What sets me apart is my style and ability to create different types of R&B songs. I have my own label SCH Entertainment Inc. and through my work ethic and relationships, I have been able to have my music heard on major radio, television such as BET, Music Choice, and Lifetime and I have had the opportunity to share stages with some of my favorite music artist from all different ages such as, Babyface, Fantasia, Miki Howard, Dj Khaled, Mary J Blige, Keyshia Cole, T.I, and more. I’ve done all of these things because of my beautiful art, my drive and because I invest into my music business with money I’ve made from my voice. This makes me proud. Not to mention I give back to the Youth in the City of Philadelphia who are interested in the arts through my nonprofit organization SCH Creative & Performing Arts. I also am an advocate for music artist through my service as a Governor for the Recording Academy Philadelphia Grammy Chapter. I am a mentor and make it a point to educate newer music artist on how to navigate in the music business. This is all apart of my brand.

I AM #SuDAT (Spiritual, Unique, Divine, Artistic and Thankful)

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them on a tour of Philadelphia. Our city is so beautiful and historic. I give them the Philly experience. I would first take them to get a cheesesteak from Maxs down North Philly and then take them to Ishkabibble’s on South street and let them decide which one is better. I’d take them to get a Ritas Waterice and a pretzle. I’d also take them outdoor skating at Spruce street harbor and ride a bike down Kelly Drive where they could run up and down the “Rocky Steps” at the Art Museum which I’ve had the pleasure of singing at. We’d also go eat at Buddakan and we’d try vegan food at Nourish and Atiya Ola’s. Then I’d check out what parties are happening at Noto for a fun dance night. Live band, let’s go to Time.
