We had the good fortune of connecting with TACEY and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TACEY, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I was always drawn to the performing arts since I was a little girl, I started dancing when I was 4 years old and I never stopped since then. Growing up I was a competitive dancer and I eventually started to train vocally, by the age of 10 I was lucky to spent about 50 hrs weekly training and practicing at one of the best conservatories in the country. As soon as I turned 13 my family took the decision to come to LA so I could persuade my dream in the right place. The truth is that I’ve loved music and dance since I can remember and I never had a doubt that performing was my call, it never really felt like just a hobby to me, I always knew music and dance were going to be in my life forever.
To be honest I feel like I didn’t really choose an artistic career it chose me, my passion for the stage is something that I was born with and I couldn’t really imagine doing anything else.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m TACEY, a bilingual musical artist and dancer. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX to Argentine parents. Music and dance are my forever passions and to me they are deeply connected, I just can’t imagine one thing without the other one. My sound is versatile, sensual, powerful, and danceable of course because dance was what influenced me from the beginning to make music, I was a dancer first and I learned to love and appreciate all kind of music because of dancing.
I’m definitely a visual artist, I enjoy making music videos and I love performing live more than anything; the stage is my favorite place, where I’m happy the most:)
Something that people might not know is that I’m fully involved in the creative process of my music and my music videos, I work next to my producers to make sure that the product is exactly how I want it to. It has been very important to me from the start that my brand represents me one hundred percent as the feminine, sensual, and strong girl I am, and as an artist and business woman I never get tired of working until everything is the way I like it. I’m so thankful for dancing because I know that it gave me the discipline and focus that I have today.
I started dancing when I was 4 years old and I was already working as a professional dancer when I started to make music at 15. I’ve been lucky to train and work through the years with some of the best choreographers in the field but being in the entertainment industry since a very young age is tough because it’s very competitive and sometimes totally unfair, you got to really love the art and be disciplined, you have to stay patient and persistent to start seeing results after putting all the hard work, countless hours and full dedication into it. I’ve made a lot of sacrifices to get here but it’s all worth it:) I’m grateful for the ups and downs in my career, even when people or things don’t go the way you expect I always look for the best of anything and I learn from every experience, I know I’m only getting better as a person and artist.
I do choose to share positive energy regardless of the circumstances I go through but it’s important to remember that we are all humans and nothing is perfect even if it looks like it from the outside.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to the beach or any amusement parks like Universal Studios or Disneyland because they are so fun and I’m a fan of theme parks! And of course I’d also take them to some of my favorite restaurants because I’m a bigggg foodie, especially a pasta fan so we’d go visit some of my favorite Italian restaurants. Trattoria Amici is one of my favs!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mama! She’s my everything, she has always supported my career and everything I do.
Being in this industry, that I love so much, is not easy at all but I know how blessed I am to have my mom by my side, she’s been with me through thick and thin, I’m so incredibly grateful for all the sacrifices she has made for me to be here today and for how hard she works behind the scenes everyday non-stop towards my career. I’m so lucky to call her my mom!
