We had the good fortune of connecting with Tacondra Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tacondra, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I hail from the roots of Florida but have adopted the boots of Texas. My early years were spent in Plant City, FL, until the age of 19 when I embarked on a journey to Texas, following my husband’s military service. The experience of growing up in a small town left an indelible mark on my personality, fostering in me an appreciation for nature, simplicity, freedom, security, and a profound sense of family and community.

In that close-knit environment, where everyone knew each other, a strong communal spirit prevailed, and mutual care was the norm. Family holds an unparalleled significance for me, and I attribute this enduring value to the solid foundation laid by my upbringing. An intriguing twist to my story is that my husband and I not only grew up together but also attended the same church where we both honed our musical talents as musicians.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a versatile creative with multiple passions. In my role as an author, writer, transformative leader, and coach, I find immense joy in motivating, empowering, and coaching women of faith to embrace their aspirations and fulfill the purpose God has designed for them, unapologetically. My personal evolution has been a challenging one. Music captured my heart from a young age, with piano and violin playing, choir singing, and more. However, as I navigated adulthood, life’s complexities took their toll. Amidst painful realities, hurts, hardships, setbacks, and competing responsibilities, my passion for music, among other things, dwindled.

The year 2021 became a turning point in my journey of rediscovery, thanks to my daughter’s influence. Witnessing her love for music and her creative endeavors rekindled my own musical flame. The ongoing journey of self-discovery aligns with life’s continuous evolution. Through it all, the most profound lesson I’ve learned is to never cease believing in one’s identity, inherent worth, and the positive impact one can make in the lives of others simply by authentically being oneself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Despite my deep love for people, I must admit that I am a significant introvert at heart. I often find myself in the role of the one asking for suggestions on where to go and what to do! I find solace and joy in tranquil environments, cherishing moments of relaxation and exploring diverse cuisines. Sampling new foods has become my way of delving into various cultures without physically traveling to different countries.

For those seeking recommendations in Texas, I would suggest exploring the serene Lake Travis area for a peaceful retreat. On the flip side, the vibrant Houston or Austin area is perfect for those who crave live entertainment and a rich variety of delicious foods!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey and the person I’ve become are deeply shaped by my faith in Jesus Christ, along with the unwavering support of a loving network of family, friends, and well-wishers. I owe a special debt of gratitude to my parents, Vincent and Juana Wright, who have been my pillars from the very beginning. Their love and encouragement granted me the freedom to blossom into the woman I am today.

I am profoundly thankful for my husband, Eric Brown, whose support, financial backing, and encouragement have played a pivotal role in my life. His divine connection as my husband has provided a broad foundation capable of embracing a woman like me. Additionally, my identity as a person and a creative artist is significantly enriched by our daughter, Amiyah Brown. She is a true gift to the world and a blessing in my life, not to mention the unparalleled talent she brings as the best female music producer in my world!
