We had the good fortune of connecting with Taeylor White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taeylor, why did you pursue a creative career?
I chose to pursue an artistic/creative career, because it was an outlet to express myself. I wasn’t the type to express myself through words. I felt like it was hard, especially when I was younger, to get people to understand how I was feeling. Dance and art screamed the words I was afraid to say, and it opened a door for my audience to truly understand what I wanted them to hear.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is abstract, spontaneous, and emotionally driven. My paintings reveal different chapters of my life that I have already made peace with and am comfortable with sharing with the world. I also am an up and coming photographer open to collaborative work. These two career paths are what I am most excited about during this time. I have hopes that my work could heal others the way it saved me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend came and visited me for a week I would take them to Topanga Canyon to see the beautiful view of the city. Next, I would spend the next day chilling and relaxing at Lake Balboa. We would grab food at a local food truck spot and have a nice picnic catching up. My favorite food truck spot for tacos is Tacos El Venado in Van Nuys, CA. If we’re craving soul food, I would recommend Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles. If we’re down for getting drinks, I would recommend going to Pink Tacos on Sunset Blvd. Their frozen margaritas are top notch!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many significant others who I would like to thank for paving a way for my success. Most importantly, my parents. My parents’ support means everything to me & without them I would be nothing. Secondly, I would like to shoutout my dear friend Quinton “Tex” Meadows. Every time he has an opportunity, he never forgets to bring me along. He believes in me and without him, I would not be able to be where I am today if he had not given me endless amounts of chances to prove my talents to others. I owe him.
