Meet Tahirah A’sha | Founder of Your Favorite Cup

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tahirah A’sha and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tahirah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
When I think of the pursuit of creativity, I initially think about how it actually chose me. For some time now, I’ve been inspired by my own life journey and pride myself in feeling, moving, and working with what resonates within. Whether it’s partnering with New York’s and Africa’s coolest creatives, or looking back on the types of books I bought at the Scholastic book fair in middle school. I am working on becoming a refined artist though… stay tuned. lol
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m currently at the most vulnerable moment in my life as a business owner and creative. For so long I’ve been stuck between working in corporate america or being a full time entrepreneur like I have been for the past 10 years. While I know the answer is obvious, I still craved that validation from society. So until I figure out my journey there, I’ll be standing on business with the soft launch of my Wellness brand and experience, Your Favorite Cup. I’m on a mission to heal the hood with herbs and remedies passed down from passed down generations. Launching this March 13th online and in Brooklyn, if you’re reading this and around.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my sisterhood of dope women providing safe spaces for people of color to bask in healthiest versions of themselves and that is Priscilla with Saddie Baddies, Teya with A Safe Space Mentor, Elyse with Sad Girls Club, and Nelo with Fearless Growth. As a mother to a beautiful baby girl, these women constantly support me through their offerings to the community.
