We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamara Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tamara, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
Getting into the cannabis industry because I am a registered nurse. I was actually laid off from the job I was working for six years due to starting my brand.
What should our readers know about your business?
So we are a cannabis event production company with an emphasis on education through experience. What set us apart from other event companies is our passion to educate people but at a level that they are ready to consume the info from culinary to wellness and beauty. When I came into the cannabis space I didn’t see event that I wanted to attend as a professional, a mother, a women of color there just wasn’t a place for me, so I created it. It was not easy and still isn’t easy, I have made mistakes and this industry is not very forgiving but I believe in our message so we keep pushing through. I have learned to under promise and over deliver. I want people to know that I create these event so you can be informed about the plant and the varieties of ways in which you can use it, just in case you need the info we are here for you.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So first we would go visit Planet 13 since it the biggest dispensary in California to date. We would also visit Weed Cellar in Hollywood because it’s just a sexy venue. Attend a cannabis infused private dinner. Go visit a cannabis grow.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So the first interview I did was with Mary Carreon at the time she worked for OC weekly specifically for the cannabis division. She handle my interview with care and made sure to highlight my why in the most respectful way. We were creating something that had not been done at the time. Her article help validate what I was doing. She is one of the few people that I now consider a friend in the industry and I have the ultimate respect for her.
