We had the good fortune of connecting with Tania Wilk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tania, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Music is extremely powerful; some people are touched by a beat, others identify strongly with certain lyrics. My purpose as a singer/songwriter is to share my own story through song as a way to give hope, foster healing, and create a connection with my listeners. Music is a way to tell people you all have a place no matter where you are in your life. I want to be a building block in a society where people support one another through all the unique challenges life has in store for you; a community where you celebrate triumphs when you’re riding high, and offer strength when times are down.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a singer/songwriter originally from Long Island, NY. My debut EP, ‘Carousel’ was released on 12.3.20 and is all about the rollercoaster ride from a fairytale wedding to and through the nightmare of a divorce. To have the opportunity to turn my broken heart into art was a therapeutic process that was instrumental in taking me from my lowest low to a life far better than I could ever have imagined. I sing about my time in a downward spiral, to getting back up and creating a life that I now know would never have been possible had I stayed in my toxic relationship.
The tracks from ‘Carousel’ infuse the soulful sounds I grew up with in church choir with an indie folk feel, but I’m really excited for the world to hear a new sound from me on my second EP which will be released in 2022. Stay tuned!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Lots to choose from, but here are some of my favorites…
*Definitely hit up Happy Hour at Figaro Bistrot
*An outdoor brunch (Little Dom’s is great)
*Take a walk around the reservoir in Silver Lake
*Hike and/or picnic in Griffith Park
*Get lost on the coast and explore different beaches and piers
*Staycation in Joshua tree and enjoy a sound bath at the Integratron. It’s magical!
*When it’s safe for all, check out live music and support musicians at places like The Dresden, Hotel Cafe & Zebulon
*Eat lots sushi
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to take a moment and give a very special shout out to my family, friends and fans for their unwavering support in both my life and musical career! I feel the love and am so grateful to have you on this journey with me!
