We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Jed Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor Jed, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been a creative since a young child. Creation is a very special thing; bringing into existence what didn’t exist. Whether it be poetry, film, music or any other art form, creation and perception is based on each individuals vantage point and perspective. Even when you are able to make a positive impact on just one person, that’s what it’s all about.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I span into many areas creatively with a goal to shine my light positively altering perspectives, consciousness and states of being. Whatever your path, there will be roadblocks and hurdles along the way. If what you do brings joy to yourself and others, there is always a way to conquer the obstacles and pick yourself up when you’ve fallen down.
I enjoy writing poetry, narrative storytelling, filmmaking, acting, photography, snowboarding, droning, playing handpan and spiritual healing work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Nature is my place. I would show them amazing hiking trails, ocean views and stunning sunsets. I love to cook and grill out; seeing enjoyment on others faces around a table of great food brings me great joy. We’d finish off the days dancing to fun music on the beach or in the canyon.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I measure success in the form of wellness and happiness. I have been blessed to have amazing people in my world throughout my life starting with my family and my friends. Ones actions will always show ones intentions. I pay close attention to this and I am grateful for each and every person that has crossed my path, whether it was for a short period or throughout the duration. There’s always a lesson or reason and with that I show my appreciation.
