We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
“Work Smarter. Not Harder.” For me, it’s all about how my days reflect income-producing changes to my life, opposed to the busy work not amounting to any goals or ambitions.

I used to think “As long as I’m working hard and I stay busy” that means all of my efforts will pay off. After being laid off multiple times, I realized my personal life was far more important than slaving for someone else’s dreams. Don’t get me wrong! I love the work I’ve done for past companies but I was also given the blessings to see that, unless I make my money work for me and me not working for the money, I will never feel fulfilled with life.

Come full circle into present day, I promised myself that IF I jumped back into work. Everything had to be on my own terms. The pay I want, the schedule I want, and the freedom to travel. By the grace of God, he has over exceeded these requests and laid more by my feet.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve always had a passion for interior design but couldn’t figure out how to channel that energy! Playing tug of war with my partner these past 2 years in our NYC home was a huge factor. Like any couple, we can never agree on the smallest details when it came to painting the walls, furniture, etc! But my passion to decorate was yearning so finally made the jump to invest into the real estate and property business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’re going to Melrose for the day!

They have the best shopping, food, and engaging people! I actually miss living in this area because it was a one-stop-shop.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This shoutout I’d like to dedicate to a book I completed recently, THE MEASURE by Nikki Erlick.

The Measure taught me that, everyday we should wake up with the mindset of fulfilling every single moment you can. For context, this is a fiction booked based in NYC where every time someone turned 22 years of age, a box was dropped off to their doorstep. Inside the box was a string that measured the lifespan of your life. Some were extremely short and some WERE a full life long of string. It truly put life into perspective for me.

Through this lens, I’ve learned that everyday is worth fighting for because tomorrow is never promised.
