We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Price and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
When I was in college and fresh out of school, I put so much time into making work for others and was always striving to have multiple projects on the go. As I’ve gotten a little older, I’ve realized the importance of making time for my own personal work instead of constantly trying to take on extra freelance or making portfolio pieces. It feels good to make things that are just for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I found that I gained the most traction when I started letting go of making what I thought would help me get a job or what I thought others would like and started making whatever I wanted! I was always scared because I knew not all of my peers would like what I liked. It’s freeing to realize that there is an audience for whatever it is you want to make, and that people can tell when you enjoy what you’re doing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend was visiting me in LA, I would take them to Republique for pastries and coffee and follow it with a hike to Griffith Observatory for some beautiful views. Later on, we could grab dinner at Kismet, have a few drinks at Little Fatty, and maybe even get some late night al pastor tacos from Leo’s taco truck!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to Ethan Demarest for always being supportive of my career goals and talking me through artistic struggles!
