Meet Ti Phan | Personal Trainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ti Phan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ti, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the 2 most important things to any successful business is 1, genuinely loving what you do & always looking for ways to improve because you cannot teach what you do not know.
I feel like a true leader simply inspires, nothing more & nothing less.
Secondly, you have to love HELPING people.
I always say that if you love what you do & truly believe in your product, business is simply a transfer of feelings.
I understand first hand how much fitness has impacted my life & that is why I. make it a mission of mine to pass the knowledge forward so others can reap the same benefits.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business is special because of the foundation that we have.
We all have immigrant parents who barely spoke a lick of English & came to America with nothing but a few dollars to their names.
We lived off section 8 housing, food stamps, & any other kind of government assistance you could think of.
We got through school using financial aid due to our circumstances.
We didn’t have much growing up but we saw how hard our parents worked to give us a better life & opportunity so it was always the goal to make something of ourselves so we could pay them back & show them we understood.
With ZERO experience running a business & no real guidance we had to figure everything out on our own & just dealt with all the challenges as they came.
There were many times we felt hopeless but one thing we never did was quit.
In 2016 as our business and clientele organically grew we knew that was time to find our own location.
But without any track record of running a legit business we got turned away by over 20 locations before we got to the one we have now.
On October 16, 2016, we officially opened our gym—and we’ve never looked back.
Every day brought new challenges, but we kept showing up and figuring things out as we went.
JourneyIIFit is so much more than a gym filled with equipment.
This 8-year milestone stands as proof of what hard work, dedication, and resilience can achieve.
Our parents, immigrants to the U.S., arrived with little more than a dream to give us a better life.
With no resources or business background, we pushed forward, turning our vision into reality through pure determination.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly with work being so busy I don’t find myself spending too much time either at home or the gym but if I had to choose, I would definitely take them downtown towards the beach.
With that being said, I think we take for granted how close we live to everything like the beach.
But i am reminded of how blessed I am every time we do get a chance to get out there & just enjoy the breeze.
I guess you can say in my own bias opinion, if you are in the city, come check out JourneyIIFit 😀

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First & foremost our business JourneyIIFit is a TEAM & I would not be able to have the platform that I have without the help of my business partner Jandar Ry who I have known for over 20 years & the other guys at JourneyIIFit Sokheng & Bo who show up every single day & do their part to make sure this business keeps running.
Of course our clients who we understand could be anywhere else but they choose us & we are forever grateful for that.
I can’t forget the lady of J2Fit Sarah for being so understanding of how hectic my life could be running a full time business & always finding new ways to make my life easier any way she can.
