Meet Tiffany Bell: Freelance Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I first picked up a camera 7 years ago because I wanted to find a creative hobby that was completely different from the industry and work-life I had back then. Little did I know then it was the spark that ignited my passion to pursue this crazy yet amazing career as a photographer. Just like all jobs, being a freelance photographer comes with many challenges and frustrations in front and behind the scenes. It takes relentless ambition, thick skin and constant strategizing creating innovative ways to distinguish yourself from all the other photographers. Building a genuine relationship with each one of my clients is fundamental for each project so they can have complete trust in my abilities and vision. Whether it be their products, a new restaurant, updated headshots or cherished moments, whatever it may be.. I get to create a visual story from the way I see it – and that is awesome. I can’t actually imagine spending this much time and effort on pursuing any other career other than photography. Creativity is the heart and soul of what this business is all about. I never have to choose between business or pleasure – my pleasure is derived from the pursuit of this career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I take great pride in all of the different areas I have experience in what subjects or types of photoshoots I have done. I never wanted to confine myself to a niche or be categorized as a certain type of photographer. I love being able to shoot food one day and then products and then cars the next, it keeps it exciting and challenging. I’ve learned its equally important to not let your success get to your head but also your set backs get to your heart.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would not take them to the traditional tourist spots, I have found sometimes on purpose and also accidentally the best views of LA in the most unexpected places.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my sisters and Dad. Whether it be the moments of success and exciting opportunities I can’t wait to share with them, or the times where I have felt discouraged and disappointed – they have always been there. Not only have they encouraged me to pursue my passion but they genuinely believe in me as a person and a photographer, and that has meant everything.
