We had the good fortune of connecting with Tine Ernholdt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tine, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I have two things that are especially important to me. I am a singer and songwriter and for me it’s really important that I stay true to writing the music that I like and that I want to write. I want to keep my integrity as a songwriter. It’s so easy and tempting sometimes to just try to write whatever I think other people want to listen to, even if that is not what I like. I think you will hear in the finished song if the songwriting is genuine or not. I used to ask for other peoples opinions but I try to keep that to a minimum now and only discuss my songs with a few people, like my producer.

The other thing that is important to me is to always have a good attitude, to be easy to work with and nice to be around. I want people to feel that I have a good energy and that I am a hard worker. If you have to pick between two people with the same skillset, you would rather pick the person that you wanna hang out with, right?

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Music has always been a big part of my life, and I have always been involved in some kind of music “activities”. When I was a kid I played piano and sang in a lot of different choirs, however I was very shy so I never had the courage to sign solo or be the lead person. Even if I secretly wanted to. The first time I ever sang solo in front of an audience I was so nervous that my face went numb. Despite that I had a dream of becoming an artist.

In 2018 I decided to move to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute to get a degree in Vocal Performance. During my time at school I developed as a vocalist, but more importantly I learned a lot about theory, rhythm and started writing my own music.

In 2020 I released my first single under my artist name “Tine” and so far I have released three songs “Darkside”, “Addiction” and “Two to Break Us”. I am currently waiting on the masters of my upcoming songs. What I am most proud of is how much I have developed as a songwriter in this short amount of time and that I am really good at writing lyrics. I have a flair for combining catchy melodies with emotional lyrics.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love the ocean so I would definitely show people some nice beach areas like Laguna Beach and probably Venice, for the cool atmosphere. I think its worth spending a couple days taking a trip to San Diego, its of my favorite places. The entire area around WeHo is cool with Melrose Ave, The grove and Sunset Strip. With my musician friends I go to a lot of different Jam nights around LA.

Some of my “go-to” places to eat is EAK Ramen, Umami Burger and Summer Buffalo. I also love to grab a sandwich at Whole Foods and sit by The Grove to chill with friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna dedicate this shoutout to my best friends. They are always being super supportive and we are each others biggest fans. Prior to moving to Los Angeles to study music I worked as a psychologist and many people, understandably, thought I was a bit crazy for leaving that career for music studies. My friends however pushed me and thought it was really inspiring. Their support is very important for me.
