Meet Tom Jordan | Full time touring musician in 20 watt tombstone

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tom Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tom, how do you think about risk?
I think that nothing worthwhile is attained without risk. The more you risk , usually the more it pays off and if it doesn’t there’s usually a lesson to be learned for the next time. When I started playing music for a living in 2009 it was scary and I didn’t know if I could do it it I knew I had to try. 🙂
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started playing music full time as my day job in 2009. By 2011 my duo 20 watt tombstone had plans to tour and release a record. 12 years later I’ve played in 37 states in the US, and five countries overseas. I just put my mind to it and decided I’d set small realistic goals. I’m no expert on the subject of what works, everyone is different. But we approached everything very DIY and have mostly kept it that way through the years. If I don’t know something that helps us I try to learn all I can by reading books, taking courses and talking to other people about what worked for them. I try to stay humble and always listen and learn.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My house. Best place in town for all of the above 🙂
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
That’s a long list…hard to say but I guess if one person made Me the person that I am and gave me the tools to work hard and put good out into the world it would be my grandmother.
