Meet Tonikka Dumas | Owner of Dreamclassy -Online boutique

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tonikka Dumas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tonikka, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Fear and faith don’t live in the same place . I launch my online boutique back in 2017 . I was so excited to launch just to find out the people you thought will support you the most wont . Complete stranger are your best customers . I was working two jobs in going to school at that time , so I had a lot on my plate. To the point where I stop promoting my online boutique . I felt like a failure because no one was really buying off my boutique . In 2019 I completed stop talking about it I stop marketing I stopped everything . So many people kept asking me why did I stop. I would always say because I didn’t have time , But the truth was I was so fearful . In 2020 for a year straight it bothered me that I let my dreams down . I thought about my brand daily but I was still living in fear . In 2021 January had went by February, March, And April basically 6 month into the year had gone by already I was still living in fear and being scared to fail again . I had to seat myself down and really ask myself what do you want out of life. My answer was to see women walking in so much confidents wearing my brand . I wrote it down set a date to relaunch my online boutique and keep my faith in believed in myself. On July 23,2021 I finally relaunch dreamclassy online boutique . I am so happy I finally started over . I’m just getting started I’m learning daily. My brand will be a million dollar company one day .

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dream classy online Boutique is a brand that’s affordable to women who want to look in feel beautiful daily . I am so excited to network in get to know all my customers in fellow entrepreneurs who are just excited about fashion like I am . I am only 2 weeks into Relaunching my boutique . It hasn’t been the most easiest challenge to start but I feel if you plant a seed each day eventually a plant will grow. I will continue to reach for the stars daily and keep my faith strong .I’ve learned on this journey you have to spend money to make money . Scary money don’t make money . Also you win some and you lose some but always keep going there will always be trail and error but keep your faith . I am just a typical girl from south central who decided to follow her dream. Dream classy online boutique will always provide a look for date night, girls night out , birthdays, and vacations. Its never about what you wear it always about how confident you wear it .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week I would take her to the Pan for breakfast , they have the most delicious yet affordable breakfast there is in Gardena CA. I would also take her to a hookah lounge . Hookah lounges are now the hottest spots to be . To catch a cool vibe and catch up . I have 3 women who I find exciting and interesting they are all successful online boutique owners. Maxiej , Nicholynel and Tawana aka Shesofly . My best friend Trenika is actually one of the best hair stylist in LA she located on Wilshire at RMV salon she’s know by Layinghands .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my mother. She owes a daycare, I’ve watched her grow her business for years . When it got hard she kept going in never gave up. Her daycare is located in Los Angeles ca ,90002.
