We had the good fortune of connecting with truekolors and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi truekolors, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always knew our time in life is so limited and short, but I really felt that with emotions when I was turning 30. Looking back, I had lived so hard just as the society expects you to which was to study hard at a good college, work at a stable company, start paying mortgage and and settle down. But the satisfaction I was getting from life was nearly zero which made me decide I must live a life for myself and not anyone else, at least from right now.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe that vibration is the essence of everything, and that we are blessed to be able to sense certain frequencies of it in colors, warmth, sounds, emotions, mass, your mind and your soul. It is so important to find your true passion and colors that is unique to you especially in today’s world of sensory overload. I want to show and prove to the world that pursuing your passion for life is the right way to live. Musically, I have a long background playing in string orchestras and rock bands which helps me write melodically rich and complex songs for house music in my opinion. Since I was already playing and writing music throughout my life, learning to produce music was just an extension of that and starting was very easy. However as I am still learning and improving my skills, it’s going to be a very long journey. I am also currently a full time electrical engineer which is where most of my time is spent, so time management is something that is always challenging to me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start from the In-n-Out by LAX, and drive straight to Santa Monica and drive north along Malibu. Hopefully the arrival was early in the morning. I love eating lunch in the Beverly Grove area with such a variety of options. Griffith Park and Getty Villa are nice for a short walk and a night view. Dinner in Korea town would be great. I will also definitely visit some nice beaches in Orange County such as Laguna.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have two people who have helped me greatly. Moon Kyoo is an extremely talented electronic musician I was introduced to by a close friend of mine. I luckily met him fairly early in my musical journey and as an advanced producer and a helpful friend, he guided me through many beginner issues like configuring complicated set ups as well as giving me thorough, thoughtful, and honest feedback for my early works. I wish to be as helpful as him to someone starting in this field. Jason Song is a friend of mine since high school who introduced me to house music and since my very first song to my current work, he has been giving me such critical and important comments that improved many songs of mine in addition to giving me continuous support and I cannot thank him enough.
