We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler-Ann Bruce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler-Ann, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
This is the constant reminder and battle I think everyone can relate to at certain points in really any career! It’s so funny because I was just having this conversation with another creative/friend! It can get very discouraging in this field, it’s very easy to get side tracked and wanna give up! I find keeping these special people and other creatives around has helped me. I never want to be competitive in this field because that’s just not who I wanna be or what I strive to encourage in this industry and I know a lot of people who do! I think it’s the innocence of my mind, I expect everyone to view it from my point of view but that’s just not the reality unfortunately. So I cherish all the friendships and business connections I’ve been able to make and keep because of this mindset of just simply wanting to create and collaborate. It’s awesome being able to work with my friends on ongoing projects and events! It keeps me motivated to want to do better!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a photographer and creative director based in Phoenix, specializing in storytelling through visuals that can feel raw, cinematic, and deeply personal. My work is a reflection of my love for capturing moments that hold weight—whether through music, fashion, or everyday life. What sets me apart is my ability to blend emotion with aesthetics, creating images that feel both nostalgic and timeless.

Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. It took years of trial and error, building my confidence, and learning to trust my vision. The biggest lesson? Stay true to yourself. The more I embraced my unique perspective, the more my work resonated with others.

Through my brand, I want to inspire creatives to see the beauty in their own process. Every shoot, every project is a chance to grow, connect, and tell a story worth remembering.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When my best friend comes to visit, it’s all about good coffee, creative inspiration, and live music. We’d start the trip at Aftermarket, my favorite coffee spot in Phoenix, where the vibes are perfect, the coffee is top-tier, and we can even get some film developed. From there, the week would be a mix of coffee hopping, writing sessions, and discovering local musicians—because nothing fuels me more than seeing artists who light up my mind. We’d definitely hit Silverlake Ramen in Tempe for lunch one day and Sozeal in Gilbert for dinner, where we’d have deep conversations over amazing Chinese food. Some nights would be spent painting, journaling, or just driving around with music blasting, letting the city’s energy sink in. If there’s a local show happening, we’re there—I love the rush of finding a new favorite artist in an intimate setting. The trip would wrap up with a slow morning, one last coffee run, and a chance to reflect on everything we soaked in that week. More than anything, I’d want my friend to leave feeling creatively recharged and inspired—because that’s the magic of Phoenix and the energy I bring into everything I do.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family and friends—they’ve seen me more clearly than I’ve seen myself at times. It took me years to fully realize my true passion, but my parents knew it before I did. Their constant encouragement to learn, grow, and explore my interests pushed me to dig deeper into who I am and where I want to go. Every piece of positive feedback after a shoot, every conversation reminding me of my potential, and every moment of support along the way opened my eyes to the possibilities within myself. I wouldn’t be where I am without them, and I’m grateful for the love and belief they’ve always had in me.
