We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyrone Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyrone, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Giving up on something I really want has never been an option for me. When there is something, I really want. I find a way to overcome the obstacle and go after it with a vengeance. One of my favorite quotes is by Vince Lombardi. ” We would accomplish more things if we did not think of them as impossible”.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I’m a bit of a workaholic. During the pandemic, I’ve managed to build both a handbag brand (Tyduprie LLC) and complete a movie script. Being busy is just another day in the life of an entrepreneur.

I got to where I am today because of my faith in God. Building a brand is not easy, it takes a lot of prayer, hard work, dedication, and a team of very intelligent and smart people to help execute tasks to a successful conclusion, surrounding myself with a diverse group of smart people who have elite skill sets has been extremely important in overcoming some of the obstacles I’ve had to face. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned while building my company is how to Manage people and resolve conflict, if your unable to manage people or resolve conflict, your company will not be successful.

I want people to know that I was born and raised in South-Central Los Angeles. My passion for women’s fashion began at an early age, I was inspired by my grandmother, mother and sisters. It was their femininity, their strength, their wisdom, their beauty and their sense of style which gave me the motivation and direction to create a strong and empowering collection of Handheld Art. My designs are the kind of art that brings joy and inspiration to a woman’s life. My determination and inspiration in women’s fashion and art has provided me a new path and direction in the world of fashion; fashion for now and fashion in the future.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends were visiting from out of town, I would first take them to Malibu to check out the beautiful ocean views, we would have a sea food dinner with a glass of wine at Moon Shadows, which is one of my favorite restaurant in Malibu, we would probably visit the Getty Museum, Disney Land as well as some other well know landmarks

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I would like to first recognize my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me the strength and courage to pursue my dream of becoming a Global Brand. I would like to recognize my mother and father Jake and Dorthey Brown for not only giving me life, but preparing me for life ups and downs, they are the reason for my resilience.  I would also like to recognize several really important people responsible for breathing life into the Ty Duprie Handbag Brand. Marcus Redd, Will Lanni, Constance Foe, Lisa Brown, Akia Williams, Reggie, Tasha Brown, Tanya Brown. A special shoutout to FD Studios for hosting all my video and photo shoots and every model who has ever modeled a Tyduprie product, I would NOT have made it this far without any of you.

I would also like to give a special shout out to my movie writing team, Mikiala Fleming and Michael Deaton. Thank you all for supporting my vision. I love you all.
