We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa McCaffrey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, how do you think about risk?
Its so funny when I think about this because I very much see myself as a very conservative and well thought out type of person but gosh looking back everything in my life I have gone truly with my gut and always an insane leap of faith and just jumped into the ocean and swam. From touring professionally in Europe when I was playing Music, to jumping into a real estate career, leaving a comfortable brokerage to a niche brokerage. Everything has been always whatever I felt was right. So risk i wouldnt call it that I would call them seising the moment.

What should our readers know about your business?
It never feels like business it always feels like I’m working and playing at the same time, and so I guess thats the point. Doing what I love, with people I love in an environment that elevates me and pushes me, but how I got here, taking chances, seeing my future and just jumping into every opportunity possible, and most importantly being the stepping stool to my clients wealth, I want to inspire my clients to reach for the stars and if they cant reach ill be there to hold them up.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Anything up the PCH is my go to! Frist we go to the Malaga Market in Palos Verdes for breakfast and a coffee, then hike down to the cove where we would surf or hang out in the beautiful ocean that literally resembles an island somewhere, we’d rinse off and head to Swan Thai Food in Palos Verdes by far the prettiest place to have an ocean view while eating the best thai food, then time to catch sunsets at the Strand in Redondo Beach to hang out by the beach and watch the beauty of the South Bay, then time to drive to Dana Point to head to the best burger spot called Aba to tap off the night.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been in Real Estate for 7 years and I can still say I am a toddler in the game. But like anything there are very limited few whom fit all the 7 equites in life and who are also incredible mentors to me and inspiring in every way — and knowing them personally I can say you cant get more real then Moose Math, Keven Stirdivant and Thatch Nguyen
