We had the good fortune of connecting with Veronica Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Veronica, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I feel in life every decision you make to keep going faces a trade off. I’ve been in the position in my life where things seemed to not be working out, and I had to consider whether I should keep going. One of the biggest decisions for me was whether to keep pursuing my acting career. Many see the success of an actor and believe it was an overnight success. Not knowing, that the actor had been working a full time job, taking acting classes and stunt classes at night, writing and producing short films, and auditioning numerous amounts of time over the years prior to the success. It came down to this for myself. I realized I would rather live my life a few years like others wouldn’t to live the rest of my life how others could only dream of. Giving up is just not in my vocabulary.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Hard work and persistence is why I am where I am professionally today. Following your passion usually has obstacles and hurdles. I have had a few however, instead of seeing them as a obstacle I see them as opportunities. I am a proud actor and spokesperson. I run my own production company as well as my own consulting business. One thing I would like the world to know about me is everyday I keep going regardless of the obstacles that present themselves. Life is too short and precious not to pursue your dreams.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start with a hike in Griffith Park followed by some amazing food over at Smorgasburg. There are several food trucks to choose from and the hike will bring on an appetite. From there I would go to one of my favorite places, the Annenberg space for photography. I can stay in there for hours. Don’t forget to watch the short film about the exhibit before you leave. Being near moving water is very important to me so after the exhibit I would take you down to Venice or Santa Monica to touch the ocean and walk along the beach. Then jump in our car to go up the PCH to dine either at Nobu or Moonshadows. Great spots and great views.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my main mentors was my first acting coach Kathy Laughlin. I trained under her for 3 years after I graduated college. She taught me multiple different methods of acting and the business behind a successful career.
