Meet Victoria Marinucci | Content Creator & Creator Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Marinucci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Victoria, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I think the artistic / creative career pursued me. I’ve always been creative and my favorite subject in school was writing; however, I always tried to go the technology and business route because I thought “creatives didn’t make money.”
I went to school for marketing because I thought that would be more practical than journalism or an art degree. But in all my internships, I felt so out of place. I had multiple mentors and bosses tell me that I was very creative and to try to go more in that direction and that maybe what I wanted to do just wasn’t invented as a career yet. I think about this all the time.
Because growing up and throughout school and even early internships and work, being a content creator was not a “job.” It was maybe a side hustle or a fun way to get followers, Bt now, brands across the globe hire in-house content creators and it feels like the absolute perfect career for me. I get to be creative and do what I love, so I never feel like I’m working a day in my life, and that’s a true blessing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a social media content creator that has transitioned from fashion and beauty content to now more lifestyle and travel content.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m constantly creating with my audience in mind. I’m always thinking – what would I want to engage with as a consumer myself?
It was definitely. not easy to get to where I am today. It’s taken five years of hard work and dedication and “side-hustling” to be able to finally be a full time freelance content creator. I used to sit in traffic for three hours a day driving to my corporate office(s) for four years and during this time, I would listen to law of attraction podcasts. I would try to manifest a life for myself where I did not have to go into the office everyday because it was truly soul-crushing to a creative.
I also listened to a lot of podcasts, like the Julie Solomon Influencer podcast. I started posting daily to my Instagram, then TikTok accounts and eventually was contacted by different brands to do freelance content creation for them. After a few years of this, UGC really started taking off and I saw a huge growth in my career due to “user generated content” creation.
Working for yourself and freelancing full time is NOT easy. It’s inconsistent. I have been doing long-term freelance for a denim brand for four years on the side, which definitely helps with stability. Additionally, I do a lot of other things for side income, such as acting and watching dogs on Rover. I am definitely an advocate for multiple streams of income! You don’t have to quit your corporate jobs to pursue your dreams. It can take time; years. But you won’t be able to pursue your dreams if you’re stressed about money. Start it as a side hustle and find other side hustles so that you can have the freedom to do what you want, while still being financially independent.
I’m the first person in my family to be an entrepreneur and try to break the generational curse of “being broke” and I can’t wait to grow a family of my own and teach them that anything is possible if you just do what you love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think Highland Park is a great town to check out. There’s a ton of unique stores, cute coffee shops, interesting bars, and amazing eats. Checker hall has to be one of my favorite restaurants there. It’s so beautiful and the food is amazing!
Here’s a rough itinerary for a long weekend trip to LA.
Friday
– Go thrifting in Highland Park
– Coffee at Highly Likely in the back patio
– Dinner at Checker Hall
– Go out DTLA at Level 8
Saturday
– Silverlake Flea and Farmers Market
– Picnic at Echo Park Lake
– Dinner at Ysabel or Laurel Hardware
– Drinks at Employees Only
Sunday
– Drive to Laguna Beach for the best beach day.
– Stop at Avila’s El Ranchito for some margs to go and bring them down to the beach with some chips and guac.
– Grab sunset drinks at Hotel Laguna
– Grab tacos or a burrito at The Taco Stand

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Past – My first mentor Emma Smith told me that I shouldn’t be so hard on myself because maybe the career that I want just has not been created yet. This has stood with me throughout my career as the growing landscape of creators continues to evolve. It’s been a constant reminder that there is ALWAYS room for “new” careers and new jobs and sometimes we need to just simply – make our own career.
Present – I wouldn’t be able to film all the content that I film for brands out in the world without the help of my incredibly supportive boyfriend / partner Diego! Thank you for all that you do to help me grow my dreams.
