We had the good fortune of connecting with Vivian Pullan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Vivian, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I am an introvert to the world and I feel the most comfortable sharing my thoughts through the medium of art. And, when I am collaborating with others while creating art I somehow transform into an extrovert. I think most of the artists communicate best through the art they create, it somehow brings a sense of freedom. Hopefully this career path takes me to as many places as I thought it would. Also, I cannot see myself doing anything else other being a filmmaker.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the guy who uses fancy cameras to shoot the movies you’ll watch (sometimes I have use a little less fancy cameras too). Obviously there’s a lot more than just that but I was just trying to make it simple. I have been in the filmmaking industry for a few years now and I have met a variety of people and have a learned a lot from all of them. The experience and the knowledge that I have gained, from everyone I have met on various sets is what sets me apart. No matter who I work with I am always trying to learn from them and update myself. It has been a difficult path and it still is, nothing in life is easy. You always have to overcome the challenges you face. Even success comes with it’s own set of challenges. I just try to keep myself calm and just push myself to get through with whatever struggles and/or problems I am going through.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I know this sounds too cliché but I am really grateful to my parents for the constant support. I switched careers quite late in my life and they were still supportive and helped during the transition.
