We had the good fortune of connecting with Wellie Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Wellie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk are everything they’re also simple you either take the risk or you loose the chance. Personally I can’t live with regret so if it makes sense I’ll always take the risk. Which is how I started as a comedian. Everyone told me I should get on stage so I had to act on it or risk living with regret. And it worked out

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other comedians is I’m unapologetically myself and I do not follow trends. If you truly believe in yourself you won’t conform to what’s trendy or what anyone else is doing to get the same or better result is how I truly feel. Without God I wouldn’t have made it this far as much as I’d love to say it was me the truth is it’s all God I prayed and told him my dreams and he made them come true it’s much bigger than me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing we would do is hit marathon Burger on melrose. Or le Coupe that’s my spot! Probably hit the grove spend some money it’s just something about the grove that makes me want to spend money for some reason then let’s end the night at one of my shows either laugh factory or the improv and for a night cap let’s go over to the The Dime
