We had the good fortune of connecting with William Guirola and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi William, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking has played a Huge role in my life and Career. For myself just even attempting to be an actor was a risk, I had nothing. I was in a bad place in life, I could have just continued going in the road I was in or take a leap of faith and do something I had no idea about. I took that step. I went into acting with an open heart and I loved it. It was my outlet . I risked it all pretty much.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m latino, I was born in los Angeles and raised in Van nuys. I’m proud of who I am and I love representing it on screen. As an actor I love to show that latinos are more than what some people might think we are. We are parents, hard working people. We have stories to tell . I love playing different types of characters, I love getting a role and making it my own with my own twist. I think i took the hard way to get to where I’m at. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried for what I do. I’ve seen lows and I’ve definitely seen highs. There were times were I would only have 10 dollars in my pocket and I would put 9 in my car for gas and I’d grab a dollar burger just to eat something, but those are the experiences that make you stronger, that makes you appreciate the good times sooo much more.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Los Angeles is beautiful. I worked for Universal Studios, so I definitely would go there. Santa Monica pier is a great Hang Out. I love being so close to the beaches. Food, we have it all. Mexican, Chinese, thai. There’s something for everyone.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to recognize first God. I wouldn’t be here without him. Also, my 2 sons, they have been my reason to work harder, to take risks, they are a huge part of my motivation to be better every day.
