We had the good fortune of connecting with WILLIAM MULLAN II and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi WILLIAM, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the business is the product (firearms) coupled with our strong belief and understanding of our second amendment rights. We have the right to bear and keep arms- may it be for sport or self defense. This year in particular there has seen a significant increase in the demand/sales of firearms- this increase is primarily driven by our community’s desire to properly protect and defend themselves.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The business is retail/sales of firearms and accessories. We’ve evolved from a small home FFL to a storefront in Lawndale, California – at our current location for over 8 years. We continue to be a family run business and consider all our employees to be family as well. Their loyalty and hardwork has, without question, allowed us to continue and to thrive. It has not been easy to get to where we are today; the biggest challenges to overcome is the media driven misinformation and stigma associated with firearm ownership. Educating our customers and our community is how this is overcome. We educate one on one with our walk in customers or with practical working knowledge through our network of associates (NRA, Shootsafe Learning, and local gun ranges).
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d start the weekend with a trip to one of Los Angeles great outdoor ranges- open to the public Angeles Shooting Range, California Tactical Academy, A Place to shoot or Oak Tree amongst several others. Then drive back to Manhattan Beach for some authentic New York pizza at Brooklyn Brick Oven Pizza. The week would include a day trip to Catalina Island and several local beaches (Hermosa or Redondo Beach). Small backyard bbqs are always a must also.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
