We had the good fortune of connecting with Wisinee Chanwittayapat and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wisinee, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Learning new things and succeeding at them makes me feel pretty good. I feel like the more I know the better for me to prepare and be ready. Also I love discovering details about the new places and story behind it. I feel those moments are like a treasure hunting and you collect your treasure by drawing it in your sketchbook.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love drawing characters, especially animals. But the most fun part for me is research and observation. I feel there are some special things in every person and it’s my job to find it and make it shine. After being full time artist awhile I decided to become a freelancer and that gives me the freedom to roam for inspiration again. It’s never an easy path. I learn through trial and error I make a lot. To overcome the challenge I usually take a rest either 10 minutes or 1 days, after that I ask myself what the wrose that could happens? and work my possible solutions through that.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In thailand we usually have a festival hold up at tamples. Unique Activities and delicious food. They have a quirky mini themepark with ferris wheel and games to win prizes. And maybe we drive to the top at the mountain for camping and see stars at night.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my childhood friend “fong”. She has been my best friend since 6th grade and the one that inspires me to draw and always brings Wacom pen for me to borrow.
