Meet Yosi Arbib | General Construction

We had the good fortune of connecting with Yosi Arbib and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yosi, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success is undoubtedly our team and the shared goals that unite us. While I have a clear vision and am extremely motivated to bring ideas to life, it’s the collective effort, dedication, and expertise of my team that turn those ideas into reality. Our success is built on collaboration, mutual support, and a commitment to delivering excellence together.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Arbib & Sons Construction Inc specializes in hillside foundation services, expertly designed to provide stability and durability to even the most complex landscapes. Our approach is uniquely tailored to meet the demands of hillside terrains, ensuring each foundation is built to last, regardless of the challenges. This requires not only skilled planning but also the logistical expertise to mobilize and deliver massive excavators, drill rigs, concrete trucks, and soil trucks to the job site—often through rigorous bureaucracy and numerous building inspections, especially in hillside construction, which involves private engineers, geologists, and structural engineers. At Arbib & Sons, we prioritize detailed planning, organization, and creative problem-solving to keep every project moving forward and every party satisfied.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely, there are so many people and influences that have played a big role in my journey. First and foremost, I’d shout out my family—especially my grandfather, whose hard work and determination have always been a powerful example for me. He taught me the value of resilience and perseverance, especially in a competitive industry like construction. Listening to his story of he and my grandmother built a life and raised a family from humble beginnings gave me the inspiration and drive to build something myself.
I’d also give credit to the mentors and experienced builders who took me under their wing when I was first starting out. They didn’t just teach me the technical skills, but the practical insights of solving on-site issues, managing crews, and working with various trades. These early lessons were invaluable in helping me avoid costly mistakes and develop a deeper understanding of the trade.
Finally, I want to recognize some of the authors and thinkers whose books and ideas helped me grow as an entrepreneur. Books on critical thinking—such as Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman and The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene—have had a huge impact on my approach to building and running a business. These resources taught me not just to focus on profits, but to value adaptability, continuous learning, and building a solid foundation for sustainable growth.
To everyone who has supported, guided, and inspired me along the way, I’m incredibly grateful.
