We had the good fortune of connecting with Yulia Bliznyukova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yulia, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
There are so many of them that i love and actually use in my daily life.
They are changing throughout the time. Depends on the mood and transformation that i’m at.

I write my own affirmations to myself.

For example this spring i was learning how to stop self sabotage and accept my own being:
– i allow myself to make mistakes
– i embrace imperfection
– i trust my inner voice
– i believe in myself
– my ideas are unique

and etc…

Honestly, i did believe in everything i write to myself, but not on 100%,
Until it did change my way of thinking and transformed my brain 360.
I literally started to transform into those words.

Currently my affirmations focused towards the things that i want to grow at:
Such as: discipline, concentration, building new routine and etc.

Now i am so sure about everything i write.
I am becoming those words every single day.

This is how we create our life/reality around us, with our thoughts.
This subject is actually deeper than that and I can talk about it for hours. Haha.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s a long story.
Where do I start from?

I’ve been a musician and dancer when I was a teenager.
Than I moved to United States at 19 years old in 2016.
And my creative life started building and falling apart at the same time.
I chose modeling and acting careers, went to schools and billions of castings, but never could reach whatever I had in my mind.
I cared about the results, but not the process of it all.
To be honest, I also was young and naive, didn’t believe in myself, cared about other people’s opinions and was losing it more and more each and every year.

Until… I had huge breakdown in 2022 and moved to New York.
I stopped doing anything creative and worked at the coffee shop in Brooklyn and was searching for answers.

In 2024 I moved back to Los Angeles with purpose and answers.

I am a musician and a model.
I am confident. I believe in myself. I see my uniqueness.
I don’t see competition. I support all the artists and their authenticity.

The best part of it all, I truly came to sense of joy being a creative.
I know it’s an endless journey. And all I can do is learn and evolve, enjoying the process.
The fails and the success. Everything comes in one.

At the moment I am in the process of studying with vocal teacher. I also play guitar.
Slowly taking myself to songwriting and learning everything about it.

In the matter of modeling. I have a few agencies now and super excited to each casting or shoot I get.
My self hate is gone. I am in love with what I do.

I also noticed I slowly getting back to social media. I love to blog and share about my life.
Instagram is my favorite platform at the moment.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would drink coffee at Alfred and Verve – my top coffee shops in Los Angeles.

Eat:
pasta and desserts at Pura Vita;
pho at Vui Ve;
thai food at H.O.P.E. cafe;

Go to:
Malibu beaches! – favorite ones: El Matador and Escondido.
Venice beach! – skatepark, it’s such a movie to see.
Enjoy sunset at Griffith Observatory.
Take snacks and hang out at Ranyon Canyon at night. Best city view!

Do barbecue and spend time by the pool and jacuzzi. Yes.
Go out and dance at Sunday Sessions – Vinyl party
Drive to downtown at night and feel the city vibe. Walk around, take pictures on film camera and get lost somewhere at the bar haha.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes, of course!
I would love to dedicate it to all the creative artists out there that are struggling with comparison, “competition”, perfectionism.

I’ve been struggling for many many years with all the above.
Mostly the self hate, it was eating me alive.

I couldn’t accept myself, my ideas and just simply create whatever comes to my mind.
I was constantly comparing myself with other people.
And tried so hard to find support from the external world.

But only in the end I realized it all comes from within.

Our thoughts shape our reality, right?
So, I started to changed my way of thinking + studied my consciousness, my brain , my body.
Stopped comparing myself with others and saw that everyone is unique.
So do I. Which was very freeing.

I gave myself all the love and support.
Came back to music, after 10 years of sabotage.
And currently starting from scratch.

I accepted the fact that I am starting over.
I don’t have to run after success, because somebody said so.
I have my own pace. I truly enjoy what I do. And it’s all that matters.

We all came to this world to create whatever we suppose to create.
It’s better to be different, than alike.
