We had the good fortune of connecting with Zelda Diana Black and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zelda Diana, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Before the pandemic I was working at the Disney College Program trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I love Disney so I figured that working there would buy me some time or help me discover what I want to do. But then the pandemic hit and I was forced to go home. Being stuck at home really inspired my creativity and that’s when I went onto Tik Tok, an artistic career was always something I wanted to pursue but I was always scared because it wasn’t a usual job. Tik Tok helped me catch the eye of a lot of industry professionals that encouraged me to keep going and take this seriously

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my voiceover work with impressions on Tik Tok. I know, not the most inspiring story. I started as an influencer before I decided to take voiceover seriously. A lot of people tend to think that since I’m an influencer I’ll get jobs handed to me but that’s far from the truth. Voiceover is not easy at all, a lot of people think it’s picking up a microphone but it’s more than that. There are so many layers to the craft, and unfortunately a few influencers claim they’re voice over artists without even taking one class. Impressions and acting are not the same. And being an impressionist, at the beginning I struggled to find my own voice and presence. But now I’ve found a perfect balance where I bring myself to the project, with a unique twist thanks to my wide range of voices I can do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s a good question. It isn’t local to me, but I’d love to bring my friend to Claremont. It’s such a cute place with local shops and it’s got this cosy feel to it. If I had to go local, Studio City has a bunch of wonderful places to go. And of course we’d be going to Disneyland, as well as touring all of the studios like Warner Brothers and Paramount!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a shoutout to my supportive family & friends. The long list of those that have been supportive is endless but i’d love to mention Cissy Jones, Grey DeLisle and Courtenay Taylor!
