I decided I would not make any life, relationship, or business decisions based on “fear”. When you make decisions based on fear, you settle for what is commonplace. Anytime I make big decisions, I ask myself “am I choosing this path because I am afraid?” “Am I taking on this mediocre job because I am scared I won’t find another one?” or “Am I afraid of quitting this job because I have been told I need to have employer-provided health insurance?” Read more>>

The last course I took at the Fashion Institute of Technology was called Professional Procedures and used the Book called ASMP Professional Business Practices in Photography as the text book. My teacher, Deborah Klesenski said that “the next step” was to join a professional organization like ASMP (The American Society of Media Photographers). This is the advice I would give to anyone now. Don’t just join; get involved! The more you put in, the more you get out. I served on the board for years and eventually served as president for five years. I then served on the national board for six years. I think networking and volunteering is one of the most beneficial things you can do to ensure your own success while also helping others and serving your community. Read more>>
