What habits do you feel helped you succeed?

There is a wealth of research that indicates that certain habits can help increase your productivity, creativity, and/or drive. So, we thought we’d reach out to respected members of our community and ask them what habits they feel helped them succeed.

I have always had a personality that thrives in organization & preparation. I incorporate my natural skill set into my business. By paying attention to details & being thorough in my preparation & execution, I find it helps me greatly in my pursuit of making the food & drink at any party go off without a hitch. Number one would probably be multitasking. I’m a college student so finding time for work and school can be difficult sometimes. Getting audiobooks of my textbooks and text-to-speech for readings has really helped me as I can work on custom orders or exhibit pieces while still completing schoolwork. The next would be making sure recreation stays a priority. I keep myself really busy at different odd jobs and internships on top of my career as a textile artist, so allowing myself free time and space has been hard. Read more>>

I think I’m impulsive. In ways I can’t in regular life, I don’t overthink when I’m making work. I go very much by instinct and I work quickly. I rarely stop to wonder what it is I’m trying to accomplish. I think that making things gets me out of my own head and in doing so, frees me to concentrate fully on my work. And I rarely walk away.
